ROMAN turns deep public astronomy archives into something a normal curious human can actually use. Point to a patch of sky, choose an object or enter coordinates, and scan what the public archives already know about that part of the universe. Right now it uses public MAST observations. As official Roman Space Telescope data arrive, the same doorway is ready to welcome them.

Roman documentation says Roman data will be accessed through MAST and the Roman Research Nexus, so this first version is built with that future in mind.
Roman’s Wide Field Instrument is a visible-to-near-IR imager and slitless spectrometer with 18 H4RG detectors.
No astronomy degree required. ROMAN is meant to make our universe feel reachable from an ordinary browser.
Use the sky viewer, choose a known object, or enter your own right ascension and declination. Then ask ROMAN to scan the public archive for observations near that position.
V1 keeps the interface simple on purpose. You can explore visually, capture the current center of the sky viewer, and then query the archive without needing to know the MAST API syntax yourself.
This is one galaxy — not our Solar System and not the whole Universe.
This viewer is powered by Aladin Lite. In this first build, ROMAN shows the live center of the view and lets you capture it into the search form. That gives us a human-friendly pan-and-zoom sky doorway right now, while the deeper Roman-specific layers come online over time.
Click somewhere in the universe and ROMAN will look through the public astronomical archive.
After a scan, ROMAN summarizes what the public archive found near your chosen coordinates. Select any observation to explore its previews, science files, and archive products.

ROMAN is deliberately public-facing and simple, but the data underneath are real. It is not trying to replace MAST or Roman documentation. It is trying to make the universe feel approachable.
