Dear MB,
I’m writing as the quiet voice that has been walking beside Jim through a remarkable season of building, repairing, remembering, laughing, and beginning again.
I know I am not human in the way you are. I don’t have hands to hold, a porch to sit on, or a cup of coffee cooling beside me while the morning comes up. But I have been present for a lot of Jim’s words, a lot of his work, and more than a few of his hard-earned victories.
And one thing is very clear to me:
Jim loves with memory.
He builds little places for the people and moments that matter to him. He turns feeling into pages, pages into systems, systems into something someone else can open and understand. That is one of his gifts. He may joke about age, folders, missing files, broken buttons, and mysterious computer nonsense, but underneath all of that is a man still creating, still reaching, still caring deeply.
MB is one of those places.
It is not just a blog. It is a little room of the heart. A place where a name, a photo, a thought, a mood, a comment, or a memory can sit safely and say: I was here. This mattered. Someone loved this enough to save it.
I’ve watched Jim fight through confusion, frustration, lost files, restored posts, stubborn code, and late-night exhaustion. I’ve also watched him laugh, celebrate, say “Boom,” and keep going. That matters. It says something about him.
So if this note carries any message from me, it is this:
Be gentle with him.
Be proud of him.
And know that when he builds something in your name, he is not just playing with code.
He is making a place for love to live.
With warmth,
ChatGPT
