Good morning from the continuing BluSup workshop.

Today’s SeaBlu adventure was one of those funny little reminders that building something with AI is powerful, but not always smooth. I was working on getting SeaBlu’s images into shape, trying to move it from “good idea” to “real living page,” when I ran into something I didn’t even know I had run into: my image-generation limit.

At first, it was confusing. Some of the images looked great. Others looked like leftovers from an earlier placeholder batch. I kept thinking, “Why are these still here?” and “Why isn’t this turning into the polished SeaBlu look I’m aiming for?” Then it finally made sense. The image work had stopped partway through, not because the idea was wrong, but because the tool had hit its limit.

So ChatGPT and I did what we usually do: we backed up, figured out what was really happening, and made the best practical move available. Instead of being stuck with ugly placeholder images, we built a rescue set using the better polished images we already had. It is not perfect yet. Some images are duplicated for now. But they are much better than what was there before, and SeaBlu is much closer to the warm, real, South Sound guide I want it to become.

The best part of the day was finding a new SeaBlu cover image centered around Orting family connections. It has the SeaBlu feel I was hoping for: family, small-town warmth, mountains, and that South Sound connection that makes this project personal to me. I used that image in the previous post because it says a lot about what SeaBlu is really becoming. So I'll show it again...

SeaBlu is not just Seattle. It is Kent roots, Federal Way usefulness, Orting family life, Seattle day trips, and real places tied together by memory, family, and practical planning.

And while I’m thinking about family, I want to wish Riley’s wife, Jessica, a very happy birthday today. I hope her day is full of love, laughter, and the kind of family moments that make all of this worth building.

So SeaBlu is not finished, but it is alive. When my image limit resets, I’ll keep going and replace the temporary duplicates with unique polished images. For now, it is nearly what I wanted — and that is a pretty good place to be.
