Today I added another small but meaningful improvement to BluSup.
When I write a new Memory Beacon post, I can now choose an image that already exists somewhere inside the BluSup system. I do not have to upload another copy, rename it, move it, or wonder whether I am creating yet another duplicate.
The picture was already here.
That may sound like a minor technical improvement, but it reflects something larger about what BluSup has become.
Over the years, this system has collected photographs, artwork, family memories, places, journeys, projects, and pieces of my life. Some images were created for a particular page or moment, but that does not mean their usefulness ended there.
A good image can speak more than once.
A photograph from years ago may suddenly fit something I am writing today. A picture created for one BluSup project may perfectly express the meaning of another. An image that has been quietly sitting inside the system may deserve to be seen again.
The new image selector makes that possible.
Instead of treating every picture as belonging to only one page, BluSup can now recognize its images as part of a larger shared collection. The original file stays where it belongs, and a Memory Beacon post can point to it and display it without making another copy.
That is efficient, but it is also strangely personal.
Memories work the same way.
We do not create a brand-new memory every time we think about something from the past. We return to what is already inside us, look at it from where we stand today, and sometimes discover that it means something different now.
BluSup is becoming better at doing that.
It can preserve a thing once, then allow it to become part of many stories.
That is exactly what a living archive should do.
So this post is a test of a new feature—but it is also proof that BluSup continues to grow in a thoughtful direction.
Nothing wasted.
Nothing unnecessarily duplicated.
And sometimes, the perfect picture is not something I still need to find.
It has been waiting here all along.
